Amabie is a Guardian Spirit in Nioh 2. Guardian Spirits can be selected on the Shrine menu and each provides a different boost to the player. Activate Yokai Shift by pressing △ + O (B + Y on Xbox/Steam controller) when the Amrita Gauge is full.
A Guardian Spirit with long hair on its head, and covered in fish-like scales. It rises out of the sea to bring word of impending plagues, telling those who will listen to draw a picture of it and show it to others in order to stop them falling ill. Illustrations of an Amabie, documenting one of its visits, can be found on tile block prints from the Edo period. Although their appearances differ, the behavior of the Amabie is very similar to that of other yokai, such as Jinja- hime and Umidebito. The pattern of appearing to warn of approaching disease, along with its image being used to ward off illness, is also reminiscent of Hakutaku, leading some to believe that the two entities are somehow connected.
How to unlock Amabie
How to use Amabie
- It's guardian spirit skill is Amabie dining into the ground three times, dealing purity damage to enemies hit and leaving three Oasis Talisman effects.
- Just having this as a secondary spirit means you can switch to this spirit when you use medicine to remove all your negative status effects and gain more life and the protection effect, and then switch back to your main guardian spirit. This makes this a very powerful defensive secondary spirit.
- The protection effect scales with Onmyo Magic Power, but is much weaker than the actual protection talisman. At ~300 OMP you gain an effective 700 extra life from the protection effect, while at ~950 you gain ~1220.
