Chosokabew is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Chosokabe clan ruled over Tosa Province (modern-day Kochi prefecture). Chosokabe Motochika is one of its most noted leaders.
The Chosokae are said to be descendants of the Hata clan, who in turn claimed to be descendants of the first emperor of the Qin dynasty. They were no more than minor feudal lords until Motochika's reign, when the clan drove the ruling Ichijo clan out of Tosa and brought the region under hteir control. Their influence continued to expand, eventrually resulting in the clan's total domination of a unified Shikoku. However, this was not to last, as Toyotomi Hideyoshi's invasion of Shikoku reduced the Chosokabe clan's holdings to their original home of Tosa.
The Chosokabe crest depicts the leaves of the wood sorrel. Once it has take root, this hardy plant continues to thrive even when trodden upon, making it the perfect symbol for the success of one's lineage.
