Golden Gourd Cuirass is a Light Torso Armor in Nioh 2. Torso Armor protects the torso of the player and can have varying degrees of quality and level, just like Weapons. In addition, they can provide Toughness bonus, physical, and elemental protection to your character. Light Armor, lowers your equipment load, making you move faster and Dodge more easily. Toughness makes you deplete less Ki when Blocking, so if you wish to Block more often, consider wearing Armor that provides more. Usually the heavier Armor the better.
Golden Gourd Cuirass Description
Armor worn by Tokichiro. This cuirass is formed from multiple black lacquered iron plates strung together, with a gold lacquer depiction of the sun at its heart. The decoration is an indication of Tokichiro's belief that the sunrise brought with it his many successes in life.
Gourds have been grown as crops since ancinet times. As it was believed that their seeds would sprout without fail, they became a symbol of success, fertility, and family prosperity. It is for this reason that Tokichiro used the image of a gourd on his standard.
