Hanzo the Demon is a Tutorial Mission in Nioh 2. This mission is recommended for level 80, and tasks players with testing their capabilities of fighting and mastering the Spear weapon against Hattori Hanzo.

It isn't luck that decides if you come home from the battlefield or not. Your strength and skill is what it all comes down to.
From where I'm standing, it seems that your spear technique still lacks finesse. How about we go around and you show me what you can really do? And in return I'll teach you the true essence of that most noble of weapons

Your spear proficiency must be at least 120,000 or more to start this tutorial mission, you can gain proficiency points by unlocking any weapon skills and by fighting enemies with the spear. Before you start the mission, make sure you have made any preparations needed since this tutorial mission leads straight to a boss battle against Hattori Hanzo. He wields a spear, which gives him quite a long range. Using a Spear as well for this battle will be helpful since you can use the Twisting spear ability while keeping a distance when he is doing his combos that would not stop. The Twisting spear's range is not that long so just be aware of that. If the ability hits him it will knock him of balance if you thrust him again and you can final blow him. This battle is not so hard because he might just keep try to hit you with combos if you keep the range, beware of the spear shove because it has longer range than you think and does a lot of ki damage. Defeating him completes this mission and unlocks the two mystic arts for the spear.
