Horns on Head Dragonfly in Hand Walkthrough
A Duel Against Tadakatsu
For this mission, you'll want to make further preparations first before starting. Prepare your magic, ninjutsu, and choose your best weapon and armor since you'll immediately find yourself at the boss arena where you'll fight against Honda Tadakatsu. There are no shrines or any collectibles here such as Kodama, Sudama, Scampuss or locks, as well as the Dark Realm. The goal is to fight Tadakatsu and win the battle to complete this mission.
When you arrive, take advantage of him and shoot him on the head with your rifle. Doing so will cause him to fall on the ground allowing you to follow-up with a grapple attack while he's on the ground. Tadakatsu is a master at wielding the spear and he can call forth his guardian spirit, Shin-Roku to call forth bolts of lightning onto your position. He telegraphs this move quite slow, and when he does call out his guardian spirit, you'll have enough time to dash away before the lighting hits the ground. The blast leaves an electric AoE on the ground as well that lasts for a short while.
When you also fight him, be sure to take your time and jump in when you see an opening, usually, after he charges in with his spear or tosses rocks at you. Always keep your guard up as well since at mid or long-range, he can poke you with his weapon with a single strike or a two-hit combo. Also, when he uses a strong attack and a red aura appears, dash away as far as you can or roll at the time of the impact to avoid getting hit by the shockwave he releases. Since you're also fighting a human, the Kusarigama weapon works best here since you can use the chain of the weapon to pull him in which knocks him off-balance allowing you to follow up with a few strikes. Once you've defeated him, speak to Tadakatsu and a short cinematic will trigger that shows a bit of his past. After the cutscene, you'll be possessed and obtain his Guardian Spirit: Shin-Roku - this completes the mission.
