Kurama Tengu Description

A great tengu from Mount Kurama that has become a Guardian Spirit. Only tengu with superlative spiritual power come to be known as great tengu, and they were revered as mountain gods in many regions across Japan. Great tengu come in many forms, often as Hanataka Tengu, with incredibly long red noses, or the half-man half-bird Karasu Tengu. There were also some that so closely resembled birds or humans that they could not be identified as tengu from their appearance alone.
As is the case with many yokai, some tengu become Nigitama while others become Aratama. Tengu that become Aratama delight in the panic that ensues from conflict and conflagration. However, those that become Nigitama protect the sacred grounds of mountains and forests, as well as guiding practitioners along the path to enlightenment. The well-known legend of the Kurama Tengu schooling the young Minamoto no Yoshitsune in the fighting arts is one such case.

How to use Kurama Tengu

  • Guardian spirit skill is Kurama Tengu summoning a tornado and taunting. After the tornado hits an enemy or after a short time, your guardian spirit headbutts the enemy hit or whoever is locked on to respectively. High Purity accumulation and good Ki damage.
  • It's good for the same reasons Makami is good, except it also gives passive Ki Recovery speed rather than Fire Resistance, which is also it's secondary effect. if you purify enemies often, you cans use this as a secondary Guardian Spirit to gain a large amount of Yokai ability damage by switching after you use a yokai skill, though you lose the amrita.
