Obsidian Gauntlets is a Heavy Arm Guards in Nioh 2. Arm Guards protect the arms of the player and can have varying degrees of quality and level, just like Weapons. In addition, they can provide Toughness bonus, physical, and elemental protection to your character. Heavy Armor, Usually provides better protection, at the cost of movement and dodge speed. Toughness makes you deplete less Ki when Blocking, so if you wish to Block more often, consider wearing Armor that provides more. Usually the heavier Armor the better.
Obsidian Gauntlets Description
Gauntlets featuring a heavy right-hand piece, modeled on a Western gauntlet, and a left-hand one made from lightweight cloth that is designed to expose the fingers. This armor was worn by a man named Yasuke, the Obsidian Samurai, who was of African origin who served under Oda Nobunaga. He arrived in Japan as a servant of an Italian missionary. When he met Nobunaga, the warlord took a liking to him and employed him in his military. Yasuke was a huge man, lauded as having the strength of ten men. This equipment was commissioned by Nobunaga especially to accommodate the Obsidian Samurai's large frame.
