Oda Nobunaga is an NPC in Nioh 2. NPCs are characters that can be interacted with or are shown in the game. NPCs are characters that add contrast to the game's lore where they provide information, some are categorized as quest givers, while others are categorized as Merchants whom you can trade with or request for certain services.

Oda Nobunaga Information

Oda Nobunaga is the daimyo of Owari Province (modern-day Aichi Prefecture). His logical and adaptable manner of thinking led to his revolutionary introduction of firearms into the battlefield, earning him great success as he expanded his power. However, his neighbors, the mighty Imagawa clan, have posed him a constant threat.

With the protagonist's help, Nobunaga's army is able to defeat the Imagawa forces, and the Oda clan's power grows ever greater. Nobunaga is the type of man to value one's ability over one's birth, and thus appoints Tokichiro and the protagonist as his vassals after their meritorious performance in Okehazama.

After destroying the Azai and Asakura clans, Nobunaga continues to advance closer to the capital, making steadily progress towards achieving his goal of national unification. Along the way, Nobunaga's cause is lent strength by Tokichiro's Spirit Stones and the protagonist's yokai blood. As they move on to places like Ishiyama Honganji, doing battle against those who still oppose Nobunaga, the protagonist manages to save Oichi, which impresses Nobunaga greatly.

Nobunaga's goal of national unification was almost within his grasp when his vassal, Akechi Mitsuhide, unexpectedly committed treason. Surrounded on all sides by the flames that engulfed Honnoji, Nobunaga and his wife, Princess Noh, met the end of their lives as one.
