Sakata Kintoki Information
During the mid-Heian period, Kintoki is driving yokai away from the capital under Yorimitsu's orders when he meets and is intrigued by the protagonist. At this point, the protagonist is in battle with Yorimitsu, who Kintoki has come to entreat for aid in defeating Tsuchigumo at the Rashomon gate.
Kintoki and Yorimitsu rush to Rashomon, but despite putting up a valiant fight, Kintoki becomes trapped in Tsuchigumo's web. It is the protagonist who ends up defeating Tsuchigumo, saving both Kintoki and Yorimitsu.
After the threat posed by Ashiya Doman has faded, Kintoki visits the protagonist in spirit form. He speaks for the Four Guardians and requests that the protagonist fight them all. Agreeing to this challenge, the protagonist takes on the Four Guardians, as well as Fujiwara no Yasumasa and Yorimitsu herself, defeating them all. Impressed by the protagonist's strength, Kintoki pledges to keep watch over the protagonist in the afterlife and beyond.

If you are fighting Sakata for the Dojo mission The Unmoving Mountain, I highly recommend not fighting him normally. The are two big reasons for this; 1: Sakata becomes stagger proof with any active skill he uses, and 2: Sakata also becomes stagger proof with ANY attack he uses while in High Stance. This equates to him eating your attacks and damn near one shotting you with any attack he does. The strategy I used to beat this SoB was to hang out at mid to far range and bait two different attacks from him. The first attack he will do is charge you at high speed. once he does this block the charge attack and hit him a few times before backing up. The second attack he will do is the axe spin. if you are far away while he does this start closing the distance as once he stops spinning he will he vulnerable for a few hits. This hit and run tactic makes the fight much easier to deal with. As a final note I will say again, I HIGHLY recommend not fighting him normally and trying to stun him with hits like normal human bosses. He will just use an active skill or attack from high stance to eat your attack mid swing and hit you for >50% of your health. I hope this helps!

His low stance normal attack can go right through your block. The damage is negligible, but it just really further adds to the B.S. this fight already is.
