Senji Toyo is an NPC in Nioh 2. NPCs are characters that can be interacted with or are shown in the game. NPCs are characters that add contrast to the game's lore where they provide information, some are categorized as quest givers, while others are categorized as Merchants whom you can trade with or request for certain services.

Senji Toyo Information

Senji Toyo is the granddaughter of the legendary swordsmith, Senji Muramasa, based in Ise Province (present-day Mie prefecture). Under the strict tutelage of her grandfather she has become a swordsmith of considerable skill in her own right. While her grandfather has been away, she has kept the home fires burning, forging blades worthy of the Muramasa name. Tokichiro and the protagonist find her cowering in the wake of a bandit attack and come to her aid. From that point on, she lends them her skills as a blacksmith.

Through trial and error, Toyo has managed to refine her sword-making technique, but has hit a wall that cannot be overcome without extracting more heat from the furnace. She hears rumors of Kagutsuchi's Magatama, attainable from felled yokai, with the power to provide the extra heat she needs and enlists the protagonist to help her get her hands on some. The protagonist succeeds, and as Toyo felt the heat of the magatama, it stoked her ambition to forge ever greater swords.
