Enemy Description
Taira no Kagekiyo is a military commander from the late Heian period. He was born Fujiwara no Kagekiyo, but came to be known as Taira for his loyal militarily service to the Taira clan.
Kagekiyo was well-known for his valour, as exemplified in a famous anecdote from the Battle of Yashima, in which he ripped the sturdy neckguard worn by a Minamoto general off with his bare hands. Many Japanes folktales recound how after the Minamoto clan's victory, Kagekiyo remained in hiding, ceaselessly plotting to assasinate Minamoto no Yoritomo.
Kagekiyo returns to Yashima to retrieve the Kusanagi Tsurugi, only to encounter the protagonists, who is after the same prize. After Kagekiyo is defeated in the ensuin battle, the protagonist returns the sword to Yoshitsune, who restores it to the Imperial Family.
