Build Strategy & Video
Based on the concept of a Witch Doctor with a snake totem the Coiled Serpent uses poison and paralysis to, well, paralyze and poison the enemy. I have earlier tried poison and paralysis builds separately but never thought of doing it in combination. The only reason I picked hatchets for this build is that they seem to fit the concept more than any other weapon except for the spear. (If the hatchets don't work out I may try the spear later). I also like the idea of Magic scaling as my second main stat (after a remodel) because what would a Witch Doctor be without some magic spells.!
A typical opener would be a couple of poison arrows followed by paralysis and then a Greased Lightning strike. This combo together with Increased Mêlée Damage on Poisoned is pretty potent. I also found a Sime Mold Core with Anima Bonus for Ailment so that should help to build the Anima charge as I am constantly poisoning and paralyzing.
Armor, etc, etc is still a work in progress. So far I have fought four bosses, the first three before I had any real Ninjutsu skill so I summoned for those. I did just fight Imagawa Yoshimoto who is usually a pain in the beginning but using an average AI summon he pretty much collapsed from the poison and a couple of Yatsu-no-Kami strikes. I hope that is a good sign.
