The Missing Gun

Mission Start Text

Listen up!

Lord Nobunaga has entrusted me with some troops, and I will soon depart as part of the campaign to subjugate the countries of the Hokiruki region.

In preparation, I sent for the finest of the Sakai's guns, but it appears someone has stolen it while in transit. I would rather not ask for your help, but I believe you to be the right person to retrieve this valuable weapon for me.

What?! It was the Saika all along? To think they would impersonate bandits to get in our way. You really can't tell what they're capable of.

Anyway, you should take this gun. It's fine, it's the least you should get for your troubles

Kodama Locations

Sudama Locations

• Head to the east side of the temple. Before heading up to the temple's graveyard, check the right side corner, you'll find the Sudama hiding behind the grass

Scampuss Locations

• The first Scampuss can be found behind the graveyard of the temple that's on the east entrance.
• The second Scampuss can be found inside the house connecting to the temple that's being protected by a large Warrior Skeleton on the west entrance.

The Missing Gun Walkthrough

Starting Point

When you arrive, you'll first see the shrine for this mission. After further preparations, turn around and loot the body first that's behind the tree on your left. The path at the back is locked, so the only way is straight. The first enemy you'll see by the house on the right is a Gunman, similar to the ones you first encountered during the main mission: Pervading Waters. Remember, they're agile, they can shoot you with their dual pistols and they can fight you in both close and long-range with their rifle and melee weapon. There's a small chest inside the house as well as a sword-wielding soldier. Next, go straight and you'll encounter three more soldiers.

Once you enter the forest area, look to your left and you'll see an Armored Dog hiding behind the grass. Make sure to kill it quickly to stop it from howling and alerting all nearby enemies. Now, you'll notice that there are two highlighted areas on your mini-map. You'll want to head east first towards an area that has Jizo statues and gravestones around the area. Once you step inside, a female sakai warrior wielding a Kusarigama will appear along with a gunman and the path behind you will be blocked. All that needs to be done is to kill the female sakai warrior. Make sure you kill the gunman first to stop it from shooting at you - after killing her, go check the west side of the forest where you'll find a large chest.

After you open the large chest, go east again and heap up the slope that leads to the large graveyard of the temple. As you head up the slope, check the right side corner before reaching the entrance of the temple. You'll find a Sudama that you can trade with hiding behind the grass.

Before you head up to the temple, you'll want to search the graveyard first where you'll encounter a Warrior Skeleton and a few Spider yokai. If you go to the backside of the area, under the temple, you'll find another large chest that's being guarded by a large Spider yokai that's within the mist. The Scampuss can also be found under the temple, at the backside of the graveyard near the large chest. The door that leads to the temple is locked from the other side, so go back to the forest, head to the west gate and go up the slope where you'll encounter a Tesso and a One-eyed Imp at the top.

Once you reach the house that's connected to the temple. You'll see another mist inside the house. The Yokai within it is a large Warrior Skeleton, after killing it, you'll also find the second Scampuss inside the house behind some small crates and another large chest. After clearing the house, go towards the temple where you'll encounter an Ubume walking back and forth by the balcony- after killing the Yokai, go around the balcony and you'll find the second shrine, make sure to use it before going inside the temple.

When you're ready, head inside the temple and the second female sakai warrior wielding dual-swords will appear. You'll want to invoke a friendly NPC or have a friend join you to help you fight because you'll be outnumbered in the battle. At first, you'll fight the sakai warrior, but after a short while, two other soldiers will appear and join in the fight - all you have to do is defeat the sakai warrior to complete this mission.
