The Tengu's Blade is a Tutorial Mission in Nioh 2. This mission is recommended for level 100, and tasks players with testing their capabilities of fighting and mastering the Odachi weapon against Shisenin Kosen.

Very few people understand that brute force alone will not get one any closer to mastery of the odachi. But Shisenin Kosen will show you the way, if that is what you wish, Strike me down if you seek to grasp this weapon's true essence.

Your Odachi flows in a way even I cannot read. You truly are on another level. I shall initiate you in the secrets of this weapon, but it is up to you to master it. Many have used Shugendo to reach enlightenment since ancient times, so if you wish to learn the wisdom of our ways it would be wise to visit me again.

Walkthrough
Your Odachi proficiency must be at least 120,000 or more to start this tutorial mission, you can gain proficiency points by unlocking any weapon skills and by fighting enemies with the Odachi. Before you start the mission, make sure you have made any preparations needed since this tutorial mission leads straight to a mini-boss battle against Shisenin Kosen.
The key on defense is to wait for him to do either Groundquake raw or Devastating Rush, since he always does Groundquake after that. It has massive recovery for him, but is armored when he starts. Crashing Waves has naturally high Break, so blocking right in front of him is not a good idea.
For offense, you want to abuse the Odachi's powerful anti block tools such as High Stance strong attacks from Waking Winds: Heaven and Crashing Waves. His toughness is low, wood weapons have poor block and the Odachi is the best at punishing block, so this should be an easy win. Just do one of those attacks after hitting him twice with a quick attack.
Defeating Shisenin Kosen will end the mission.
