The Tengu's Disciple is a DLC for Nioh 2. The Tengus Disciple DLC was released for the PlayStation®4 on July 30, 2020. This DLC introduces a new story to delve into which includes new missions, gear such as weapons, armor, soul cores, a new guardian spirit, more enemies encountered, NPCs, and many more. This page covers information regarding The Tengu's Disciple DLC: you'll find the newly added content, collectibles, and the new trophies that can be unlocked.
A great battle has taken place at Yashima in the late Heian period. As a visitor in Yashima, our protagonist finds a shrine possessing a mysterious whistle called the Sohayamaru. Upon inspection, the whistle shines radiantly as the shadow of Yokai can be seen lurking in the background. It is revealed that whenever wars take place, heroes wielding the Sohayamaru will head into battle in order to restore peace back into this land.

Kodama
A Song to Calm the Storm
- From the first shrine, turn right towards the shore and run towards the end. You'll find the Kodama hiding by the rocks.
- After you speak to the NPC soldier who gives you the Incendiary Longbow Arrow, go down the cargo hold and head outside the wreckage where you'll encounter a Y-intersection. Go left towards another deck of a boat and you'll find the Kodama hiding behind the crates and supplies on the right.
- Before you reach the second Kodama shrine, you'll see a pillar that you need to cross in order to reach the shore. Before crossing the pillar, check the corner of the boat on the left side. You'll find it behind.
- From the second shrine, if you go right, you'll circle around the edge of the shore and come across a camp with red partitions around. Go through it and you'll see a tree that's surrounded by rocks. You'll find the Kodama hiding by the grass near the tree.
- When you reach the door that leads to the Mysterious Warrior Monk boss, before going in, check the right side of the door. You'll find the Kodama by the corner.
- After defeating the mysterious Warrior Monk, head inside the next building and you'll find the third shrine. On the right side of the shrine, there are some boxes, destroy it and you'll find the Kodama hiding behind.
- When you reach the first dark realm, go towards the center section of the deck where you'll see an Ubume roaming around. Defeat it then go straight a bit, you'll find the Kodama on the left side next to the wrecked boats.
- Head down the lower cabin from the ship that's engulfed with the dark realm and go inside the room on the right. You'll see a wall that looks broken, throw a bomb at it to destroy it to enter the room. Check behind the open large chest to find the Kodama behind.
- Upon reaching an estate where Benkei the mysterious warrior-monk leaves your party, as soon as you enter, turn right and you'll see some crates, destroy it and you'll find the Kodama hiding behind
- When you reach a building that's engulfed with the second dark realm, before heading up the steps, check around the corner on the left side. You'll find the Kodama hiding under the short steps.
Shadows Creep in Kurama
- From the first shrine, proceed forward until you reach a house that's on the left from the temple with the Kiryoki in it. Head inside the house, exit the backside on the right and check the corner of the fences, you'll find the Kodama there.
- For the second Kodama, continue through the area and when you reach an intersection that has a red lantern, go straight and head through the red torii gate. Head up the steps of the small shrine and climb up the ladder on the left side. At the top, go left and jump down onto the platform below to find the second Kodama.
- As for the third Kodama, jump back down to where the ladder was and head east from the small shrine where you'll see red lanterns along the way. Cross the bridge, keep going straight until you reach a temple that's engulfed with the dark realm. From the entrance, look to your right, you'll find the Kodama behind the plants.
- From the second Kodama shrine, exit the temple from the west gate and head straight until you come across a large tree. Keep going straight and then turn left towards another tree. You'll find the fourth Kodama behind the tree that's next to a ladder.
- Next, climb up the ladder, walk onto the narrow path on the left, go right towards the path that's inclined, just go straight, and drop down onto the side of a cliff. You'll find the fifth Kodama there.
- And for the sixth Kodama, retrace your steps and head back to the narrow path. This time, just keep going straight, and before reaching the end where you'll have to turn right towards the backside of the locked cabin, walk to the edge a bit on the left side, and you'll see another narrow path below you that you can drop onto. This narrow path isn't covered with snow and you'll find the last Kodama on it.
Eternal Rivals
- For the first Kodama, head inside the cave and go down one level of the scaffolding. When you reach one level down, turn right, drop down another level below, turn right, and continue going down until you reach the bottom level where the Nuppeppo is. At the bottom, look for the ladder, you'll find the Kodama next to it.
- Climb up the ladder go straight, turn left, head up one level, turn left again to reach the third level, and then turn right towards the inclined path until you reach the top of a cliff where there's also a Sudama. Walk to the left side of the bamboo bridge and drop down onto the platform below, you'll see another platform that you can jump down onto where you'll find the second Kodama.
- For the third Kodama, from the second Kodama shrine inside the cave, go west and then head down the path on the right side. From here, keep going straight until you reach the opposite side of the bottom area of the cave. This is where you'll encounter the dark realm. Keep going straight under the scaffolding, then check the left side of it, you'll find the Kodama at the corner.
- Head to the top of the scaffolding that's engulfed with the Dark Realm and kill the Nuppeppo which is the source and exit the cave. By the exit, turn right and you'll find the fourth Kodama.
- Proceed to the inclined path leading to the backside of a temple where you'll find the third Kodama shrine. From here, head inside the garden section of the temple and head north where you'll see a small shrine and a house. You'll find the Kodama in between the two structures
- Next, head west towards your objective where you'll find Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Exit the temple on the east side and head towards the fourth Kodama shrine within the bamboo forest. Continue through the area and as you climb the first inclined path, go right, straight, then left. Head up another inclined path, and you'll find the Kodama standing at the edge of the rocks.
- Go back down the inclined path where the sixth Kodama was and check the east side where you'll see flowers on the ground that leads to a large tree. Go around that tree and you'll find a bridge that leads to the top of it where you'll find the seventh Kodama.
- Continue going straight from the large tree, cross the wooden bridge, turn right, make an immediate left, cut through the bamboo, and you'll find the eight Kodama on the left side of a dead-end where you'll also find a large chest.
- As for the last Kodama, when you reach the last Kodama shrine, before opening the door that leads to the main objective, you'll find the Kodama behind a tree on the left side.
Sudama Locations
A Song to Calm the Storm
- When you reach the first dark realm that's covering a ship, head to the highest deck and you'll find the first Sudama walking around.
- The second Sudama can be found inside a secret room protected by a Nurikabe yokai wall inside the second dark realm of the building near the fourth Kodama shrine.
Eternal Rivals
- At the bottom section of the cave where you encountered the Nuppeppo, climb up the ladder go straight, turn left, head up one level, turn left again to reach the third level, and then turn right towards the inclined path until you reach the top of a cliff. You'll find the Sudama there.
- When you reach the fourth Kodama shrine within the bamboo forest. Just push through the area until you reach a field of purple chrysanthemums and a Mezuki yokai. On the left side of the flowers, you'll find the Sudama hiding.
Shadows Creep in Kurama
- From the first Kodama shrine, after checking the section of the house, go straight and you'll find an intersection with a red lantern. Check the west side and you'll find a storeroom. Check behind it and you'll find the Sudama.
Prisoners of the Stones
- From the starting point and first Kodama Shrine, check the east side and cut through the bamboo to find a dead-end where you'll find a Sudama.
Scampuss Locations
A Song to Calm the Storm
- Found inside the second cargo hold. Check the right side where you'll see a Nure-Onna and a feeding Gaki. It's the cargo hold you'll come across after encountering your first Bakegani.
- The second Scampuss can be found in the lower cabin area of a fleet that's engulfed with the first dark realm. You'll find it behind a Kiryoki before reaching the estate where Benkei leaves the party.
- The third Scampuss can be found hiding by the flowers of the estate's garden near the fourth Kodama Shrine.
The Lost Sword
- Near the first shrine, check under the small steps of the building on the left side.
- After you encounter the first large Bakegani within the yokai mist in the garden section, check the left side and you'll find a room with a small chest. The Scampuss can be found on the left side behind some jars.
- The third scampuss can be found in the room before the main boss arena near the second Kodama shrine. It's behind a shoji screen on the left where the Warrior Skeleton enemy is standing.
- The fourth and fifth Scampuss can be found inside the cargo hold of the ship. You'll need to burn the haystack by shooting the incendiary longbow arrow given by the friendly NPC by the shore. The fourth scampuss is near a soldier in the cargo hold, while the fifth scampuss is behind some crates near the large chest at the end of the cargo hold.
Eternal Rivals
- The scampuss can be found resting near the spa (hot spring) at the bottom section of the cave. You'll need the Hot Spring Chamber Key to unlock the hot spring room.
Shadows Creep in Kurama
- The first scampuss can be found behind a small shrine near the first Kodama shrine. When you reach a house, past an open temple, check the backside, and climb up the ladder that's on the left of the back of the house. At the top, you'll find the small shrine where the scampuss is sleeping.
- From the second shrine, exit through the west gate of the temple and straight until you see a path on the left that has a tree, a Kodama behind it, and a ladder beside it. Climb up the ladder, walk onto the narrow path on the right, and then jump down onto a small platform below from the edge of the cliff on the right. You'll find the second Scampuss below you.
Prisoners of the Stones
- From the second shrine, head east from the garden towards a yokai mist blocking a house. Behind that house, there's a large bell guarded by a Warrior Skeleton. The Scampuss can be found on the left side of the bell.
- After grabbing the first Scampuss, head north towards the backside of another temple. You'll find the second Scampuss on the left side next to a tree behind the temple.
Spa Locations
A Song to Calm the Storm
- Found behind the soldier's camp near the second kodama shrine and the door leading to the mini-boss of the area.
Shadows Creep in Kurama
- Past the second shrine, go around the narrow path towards the east side from the cliffside. You'll reach the other side of a locked cabin and a yokai mist where you'll encounter a Yoki. Past the yokai mist, there's a ladder that you can climb, you'll find the hot spring at the bottom.
Eternal Rivals
- When you reach the bottom section of the cave where you'll see a scaffolding that's engulfed with the dark realm, check the west side and you'll find a Nurikabe yokai wall. You'll find the Hot Spring Chamber Key inside the small cave behind the yokai. Next, unlock the gate next to the scaffolding and then go straight and use the key to open the other gate that leads to the spa (hot spring).
Locks Locations
A Song to Calm the Storm
- Ninja's Locks can be found inside the chest that's locked by the first dark realm engulfing a ship. You need to kill the Kiryoki first in order to dispel the dark realm. The yokai and the chest can be found inside a supply room on the main deck.
Saigo's Poetry Cards
A Song to Calm the Storm
- Found near the second shrine, go around the area and you'll find a camp. Head inside and you'll see a body that's resting against a supply crate on the left side, loot it to find Saigyo's Poem I.
Eternal Rivals
- When you find the fourth Kodama shrine within the bamboo forest which is near the main objective, you'll come across a field of purple chrysanthemums and a Mezuki yokai. There's a body that you can loot on the left side of the flowers where you'll obtain Saigyo's Poem II.
Shadows Creep in Kurama
- From the second Kodama Shrine. You'll find Saigyo's Poem III from a body that you can loot inside the cabin near the hot spring. The cabin is near the arena of the main boss Nue.

So that's a mission completion gate even for dream of demon now, I mean now you have to play all hose dumbass sub missions for a third time to proceed to the next region?!! It's just bizarre!!

Kinda disappointed that there's only 2 new main missions but at least there's a new difficulty level and a couple of new armor sets n weapons..

I've noticed that there are some new ninja skills (Hellfire, Eight Cold Hells, Thunderous Hell) and one Onmyo skill (Purifying Shot). Were there other skills that I overlooked? I was hoping for some new skills for the vanilla weapons.

10 days and counting. I'm soooo hyped. Stoped playing in the middle of NG+. With the first DLC enough content should arise to take my Katana and fight the evil back again. NIOH FIGHTING!!!!
