Todo is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Todo clan's power was mainly centered in lyo Province (known today as Ehime prefecture). Todo Takatora is one of its most prominent leaders.
The Todo clan did not originally have much power, serving the Azai clan in Omi Province (modern-day Shiga prefecture). After Oda Nobunaga destroyed the Azai clan, the Takatora switched his clan's loyalties repeatedly as they wandered from region to region. It wasn't until he served the Toyotomi clan that he was quickly able to distinguish himself, eventually earning the title of daimyo.
The Todo crest depicts a type of vine. This type of plant was considered auspicious due to the vitality that allowed it to thrive in all manner of environs, from trees to walls. One might say this was a perfect metaphor for Takatora, who stood strong despite the many changes in his circumstances amidst a warring world.
