Underworld Veil is a Smithing Material in Nioh 2. Smithing Materials are used by blacksmiths to forge and/or upgrade various Weapons and Armor. These materials can be obtained in various ways, such as rewards from completing Missions, dropped by Enemies, Bosses, randomly looted at various locations, or it can also be found inside chests.

 

Underworld Veil Information

A forging material used by blacksmiths.

A yokai material left behind by Hellish Hags and Underworld Soldiers . Inhabitants of the underworld wear these triangular cloths with a red pattern scrawled on them over their faces, but their meaning in unknown. While it is customary in Japan to hide the face of the decreased with a white cloth, either to protect the dignity of the individual, or to prevent evil spirits from possessing the body. It is unclear whether this bears any relation to the use of these veils by the undead.
