Wave Cutter Hatchets is one of the Hatchets in Nioh 2. This weapon works in conjunction with the Hatchet Skills skill tree. Hachet weapons scale best with the Skill stat, but also scale from Courage and Stamina. So if your Build has high Skill, consider using this Weapon type.
Wave Cutter Hatchets Description
A pair of hatchets said to have been wielded by Sakata no Kintoki. Based on picture scrolls chronicling the defeat of Shuten Doji, these appear to be the same hatchets that Kintoki carried into the battle. There is an account of Kintoki hurling these hatchets into the sea in a bit to finish off a yokai that had emerged from the water. The creature whipped up a giant wave in an attempt to block the weapons, but the hatchets cut straight through the wave and fatally wounded the yokai before returning to Kintoki's hands. From that point on, these exceptionally powerful hatchets were given their current name.
