Used to purchase or sell Weapons and Armor for Gold.

Used to craft Weapons, Armor and Tools from Smithing Materials found in Missions or from Disassembling them.

Used to raise the level of any Weapon or piece of Armor to the level of another. Used to transfer one special ability from a weapon to another.

Used to change the visual appearance of a Weapon or Armor to that of another.

Temper

Use Umbracite to swap the Special Effects of your equipment. You can select a new effect from a random pool depending on the quality of Umbracite.

Used to salvage Smithing Materials from unwanted Weapons and Armor.

Special Finds

Rare, exceptional items available in limited numbers. When you return from a mission, you will find the stock has changed.

Buy-Backs

If you mistakenly sell items or equipment, you can buy them back at the same price. Buy-backs are limited to the last twenty sales.

Familiarity

Indicates the amount of time you have used a piece of equipment. In Japan, there is a long tradition of believing that tools used for many years come to be inhabited by gods or spirits. When you equip items with high familiarity levels, you will receive more Amrita when you pray at a shrine. As equipment reaches certain familiarity levels, its abilities will grow stronger. After reaching maximum familiarity, equipment that has a special effect marked with the "inherit" icon, will pass on that special effect if it is used as a material in Soul Matching.

Soul Matching

Soul Matching increases the level of your equipment. The level of the base equipment is overwritten by that of the equipment used as a material, and the base equipment's familiarity will then be set to zero. If the familiarity of the equipment selected as material is at max, and it has a special effect marked with "inherit", that special effect can be inherited. You can select material equipment with a lower level that the base equipment, but the level will not be raised. The item chosen as material will be consumed and disappear in the Soul Matching process.

Inheritance

Each piece of equipment can have a maximum of one special effect that can be inherited, as marked with the inherit icon. To transfer the effect marked with the inherit icon, first raise that piece of equipment to maximum familiarity, and then use it as a material in Soul Matching. If the base equipment does not have an effect with its own inherit icon, then it will inherit the effect. If the base equipment does have an effect with its own inherit icon, then it will be overwritten by the inherited effect. There are also some special effect combinations that cannot be inherited. You may choose not to inherit the effect and keep the previous one when soul matching by selecting the "finished form" (before soul matching) and pressing R2.

Patronage

Patronage point can be earned by spending money at the blacksmith by purchasing, forging, and modifying items or gear. Patronage points can be spent to upgrade various aspects of the blacksmith options and capabilities. Accessed via the dialogue menu at the blacksmith. As you progress through the game, the upgrading limit of the patronage options will be increased one time.

Toyo Patronage Options:

• Sell Price Markup (-/20) - Increases the gold received when selling items and gear.
• Purchase Price Discount (-/15) - Decreases the cost of items and gear.
• Forging Cost Discount (-/15) - Decreases the cost of forging weapons and armor.
• Additional Stock (-/5) - Increases the available items for purchase.
• Additional Special Finds (-/3) - Increases the available special finds.

Muramasa Patronage Options:

• Upper Level Limit for Forged Items (-/5) - Increases the maximum level limit of items being forged. (item level, not +level)
• Lower Level Limit for Forged Items (-/5) - Increases the minimum level limit of items being forged. (item level, not +level)
• Soul Matching Cost Discount (-/20) - Decreases the cost of soul matching.
• Tempering Cost Discount (-/20) - Decreases the cost of tempering.
• Refashioning Cost Discount (-/5) - Decreases the cost of refashioning.
• Pay Soul Matching Cost with Patronage (-/1) - Allows the player to spend patronage points instead of gold when soul matching.
• Disassemble to Obtain Rare Materials (-/29) - Increases the chance of obtaining rare materials when disassembling.
• Silabar Ingots: Forging (-/29) - Increases the percentage of carried Amrita that is transferred into silabar ingots.

Silabar Ingots

Once unlocked, silabar ingots allows the player to store a percentage of the carried Amrita in a usable item form. Amrita stored in silabar ingots are not lost upon death.
