Set Bonuses | Nioh 2 Wiki

Sets or Set Bonuses in Nioh 2 are special benefits from equipping several pieces of an Armor Set. These are not common to all armor. Nioh 2 Set Bonuses are found on select Weapons and Armor through out the game. Wearing pieces of these Sets will provide numerous bonuses to the player.

• You must meet the requirements of a piece of Armor in order to get the bonuses to work.

Below is a list of known Sets that confer bonuses in Nioh. These effects can increase in effectiveness depending on the level of the armor pieces used.

• The Yasakani Magatama will allow you to lower the armor set bonus requirement by 1.
  • The same effect can appear randomly on any accessory in Dream of the Nioh as a rare star effect.
• Weapons and Armor that otherwise don't have set bonuses will acquire Divine and Ethereal grace set bonuses if the items are Divine (requires Way of the Demon) or Ethereal (requires Way of The Wise for some and Way of the Nioh for others) respectively.
  
  • These Divine/Ethereal Set Bonuses appear at random on weapons and armor without inherent Set Bonuses, and don't follow any particular pattern or order. However, the pool of potential Ethereal graces are restricted in the Underworld based on what floor you are on, see Ethereal Graces for more info.
  • Forging non-set Divine items will set the grace set bonus onto weapons and armor. There are 10 divine graces in Nioh 2.
• In Way of the Nioh, Ethereal versions of the standard set bonuses become available; indicated by the set bonus text being Ethereal color instead of the usual Divine color which is found in Way of the Wise (e.g. "The Triumph in Tranquility+" instead of "The Triumph in Tranquility"). Any ethereal item that belongs to a set bonus will be a special + version of the set, and you can give that + version to any normal version of the same set bonus by soul matching. The + set bonuses gain an additional effect added on to the final tier of bonuses if every piece has the + version of the set bonus. This is denoted as (X Pieces+). Accessories that belong to a set bonus that have resting rites performed on them from a Stone of Penance will also gain the + Version of the set.

Light Armor Sets

Light Armor is denoted by this symbol . Light Armor keeps your encumbrance low, allowing for faster Ki regeneration and overall mobility, at the expense of toughness and . Onmyo, Ninjutsu and Dexterity or Skill focused users will prefer light armor. Light Armor Sets will often have requirements of  Constitution and Skill

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

Medium Armor Sets

Medium Armor is denoted by this symbol . Medium Armor balances weight and defense, becoming the preferred type for those who think they might get hit more often. Spear and Sword users can benefit from this balance. Medium Armor Sets will often have requirements of  Constitution and Strength

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Heavy Armor Sets

Heavy Armor is denoted by this symbol . Heavy Armor provides the best defense in the game, at the expense of mobility and ki regeneration. Two-handed weapon users will want the extra protection, and will spend points in Stamina and Strength to offset.
