Chidori is one of the Spear Skills in Nioh2. Chidori is an active skill that allows you to hit the enemy with the butt of your spear as a follow up of a combo. If the enemy's Ki is reduced to zero, it will be thrown into the air..
Chidori Description
Follows up a combo with a blow using the butt of the spear. If the attack reduces the enemy's Ki to zero, it will launch them into the air. (Presstriangle button to perform additional attack).
Command: triangle button at end of combo.

Chidori Notes
- This is one of the more unique and complicated spear skills. The triple stab extension does an extremely high amount of damage on its own, especially considering it doesn't take as long as something like Twisting Spear or Triple Threat to do. The only active skill that does more damage up front is Triple Threat, which takes much more time to use. In exchange, you can't use this against many of the enemies in the game, as the damaging portion of the attack goes over their head.
- Against Humans, you are intended to hit them with the spear butt in order to launch them, putting them in position to deal damage with the stabs. This will also ground them when they land. However, if the are already out of Ki when hit, or if they are in the process of falling down when getting hit in that state, they will tumble instead, which can still net you damage if you react quickly.
- Against Yokai, many of them are actually tall enough to get hit by this attack naturally, giving you access to unusually high damage active skill for free.
