Master Swordsman's Waistguard is a Heavy Leg Guards in Nioh 2. Head Armor protects the Legs of the player and can have varying degrees of quality and level, just like Weapons. In addition, they can provide Toughness bonus, physical, and elemental protection to your character. Heavy Armor, Usually provides better protection, at the cost of movement and dodge speed. Toughness makes you deplete less Ki when Blocking, so if you wish to Block more often, consider wearing Armor that provides more. Usually the heavier Armor the better.

Master Swordsman's Waistguard Description

Midriff and thigh armor that hangs down from the cuirass and features red colored lacing. This heavy armor belonged to Ashikaga Yoshiteru, the thirteenth shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate. Yoshiteru was a famous swordsman taught by Tsukahara Bokuden who sought to revive the shogunate, which led him to do battle with the Miyoshi clan where he was killed before fulfilling his dream. This heavy armor was a treasure of the Ashikaga clan for many years, being passed down through the generations since Takauji. It has vivid, multi-colored lacing. Using the very finest steel and high-quality leather, it affords a level of protection that belies its old-fashioned, gaudy appearance.
