The Drying Pole is one of the Odachis in Nioh 2. This weapon works in conjunction with the Odachi Skills skill tree. The Odachi weapon type scales very well with Strength, but also has some scaling from Stamina and Heart. So if your Build has high Strength, consider using this Weapon type.

The Drying Pole Description

An odachi forged by the famed swordsmith Nagamitsu of the Osafune style in Bizen Provinée (present-day southeastern Okayama prefecture). It is said to be the favored sword of Sasaki Kojiro, who also went by the name Ganryu, the eponymous fighting style in which he was a master. It differed from other swords of the period which generally had shorter blades. This was a longsword with a length of around three feet. This meant is came to be viewed as unwieldy and useless in actual combat, and was mockingly called The Drying Pole ("Monohoshizao"). Contrary to the image conjured by this derogatory nanme, however, Kojiro was extremely adept with the blade, and those who faced him in battle quickly learned of his terrifying swordsmanship.
