Merchant's Hakama is a Light Leg Guards in Nioh 2. Head Armor protects the Legs of the player and can have varying degrees of quality and level, just like Weapons. In addition, they can provide Toughness bonus, physical, and elemental protection to your character. Light Armor, lowers your equipment load, making you move faster and Dodge more easily. Toughness makes you deplete less Ki when Blocking, so if you wish to Block more often, consider wearing Armor that provides more. Usually the heavier Armor the better.
Merchant's Hakama Description
These loose skirt-like trousers are part of a set of attire commonly worn by the multitude of merchants that travel the land in search of trade.
Much like the matching outerwear, the hakama has chainmail woven into the underside of the fabric in order to increase its hardiness. In addition, lightweight tassets hanging from the hips provide additional protection to those areas.
