The Exceptional One's Waistguard is a Heavy Leg Guards in Nioh 2. Head Armor protects the Legs of the player and can have varying degrees of quality and level, just like Weapons. In addition, they can provide Toughness bonus, physical, and elemental protection to your character. Heavy Armor, Usually provides better protection, at the cost of movement and dodge speed. Toughness makes you deplete less Ki when Blocking, so if you wish to Block more often, consider wearing Armor that provides more. Usually the heavier Armor the better.
The Exceptional One's Waistguard Description
This waist and thigh protection features substantial plates of armor with white thread complementing the navy blue. At the back, this armor extends down to the ankles offering protection over a wide area. The extravagant gold adornments at the back are designed to be visible even when a tabard is being worn. This set of armor was owned by Shima Sakon, the tactician who served Ishida Mitsunari. Sakon was a man who possessed keen intelligence, his tactics keeping Tokugawa leyasu in check. As a military commander, he was both courageous and wise, and touted as being "too good for Mitsunari." The navy blue thread binding on the black lacquer scales are meant to be a reflection of Sakon's intelligence and fidelity.
