Benkei's Cuirass is a Heavy Torso Armor in Nioh 2. Torso Armor protects the torso of the player and can have varying degrees of quality and level, just like Weapons. In addition, they can provide Toughness bonus, physical, and elemental protection to your character. Heavy Armor, Usually provides better protection, at the cost of movement and dodge speed. Toughness makes you deplete less Ki when Blocking, so if you wish to Block more often, consider wearing Armor that provides more. Usually the heavier Armor the better.
Benkei's Cuirass Description
A cuirass featuring ceramic plates that possess a mysterious power, connected by red cord, and with a black hemp jacket worn over it. Although the plates can be fractured by heavy blows, they mend themselves before the wearer has time to notice the damage. The upper-arm guards on either side possess the same power.
Part of a set of armor worn by Yoshitsune's most trusted retainer, Mushashibo Benkei. Benkei spent his early days attacking people and seizing their weapons, but when he was bested by Yoshitsune and unable to claim his prize, he decided to devote himself to Yoshitsune's service instead.
