Obsidian Cuirass is a Heavy Torso Armor in Nioh 2. Torso Armor protects the torso of the player and can have varying degrees of quality and level, just like Weapons. In addition, they can provide Toughness bonus, physical, and elemental protection to your character. Heavy Armor, Usually provides better protection, at the cost of movement and dodge speed. Toughness makes you deplete less Ki when Blocking, so if you wish to Block more often, consider wearing Armor that provides more. Usually the heavier Armor the better.
Obsidian Cuirass Description
This armor features an open chest area so as not hinder the wearer's well-developed muscles. The Nathan-style abdominal region of the cuirass is adorned with the Oda family crest. The arm portions differ between left and right, with the left shoulder sporting a loge iron top sleeve. This armor was worn by a man named Yasuke, the Obsidian Samurai, who was of African origin who served under Oda Nobunaga. He arrived in Japan as a servant of an Italian missionary. When he met Nobunaga. the warlord took a liking to him and employed him in his military. Yasuke was a huge man, lauded as having the strength of ten men. This equipment was commissioned by Nobunaga especially to accommodate the Obsidian Samurai's large frame.
