Date Tomomune Information

Date Tomomune is a military commander from the late Heian period. A close relative of Minamoto no Yoritomo, he was quick to join Yoritomo's army and contributed greatly to the defeat of the Taira. He and his sons also fought against the Fujiwara clan in Oshu and were granted territory there as a reward for their service, where the Date clan subsequently flourished.

Tomomune is saved by the protagonist in Hiraizumi, and proceeds to fight yokai and stragglers from the Fujiwara clan. Upon seeing so many men corrupted by the power of the Spirit Stones, Tomomune resolves not to leave this region's fate in the hands of others.

After vanquishing the remnants of the enemy, Tomomune declares that he will bring the region under his control without relying on the Spirit Stones. He then shares his Guardian Spirit with the protagonist, who he has come to believe is a kindred spirit over the course of their battle.
