Akechi is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.

The Akechi clan is a branch of the Toki clan, which is descended from the Genji. After time spent serving the likes of the Asakura, it came to enter the service of the Oda. It once ruled over Sakamoto, Omi Province (modern-day Shiga prefecture) and Tanba Province (comprised of today's central Kyoto and northeastern Hyogo). Its most famous leader is Akechi Mitsuhide.
Mitsuhide was one of Nobunaga's key retainers in the latter's quest to unify all of Japan. However, Mitsuhide's unexpected betrayal led to the surprise attack on Honnoji and the death of Nobunaga himself. Soon after that, Toyotomi Hideyoshi returned from his assault on the Mohri clan and defeated Mitsuhide, ending the Akechi clan's status as a daimyo clan.
The Akechi crest was inherited from the Toki clan, and depicts a Japanese bellflower. It is said to have gained its auspicious association after warriors who adorned their helmets with these flowers before going to battle were rewarded with great victories.
