Nanbu is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.

The Nanbu clan was based in Sannohe, a region in the north of Mutsu province (modern-day southwestern Aomori prefecture). Among its most famous leaders are Nanbu Harumasa and Nanbu Nobunao.

Harumasa was well-known for his valor on the battlefield. He expanded his family's territory so much that it was famously said that one could enter Nanbu territory when the crescent moon was high in the sky, and have to walk every day until the moon was full in order to finally exit the family's lands. His death was accompanied by the stirrings of internal conflict within the clan, but this was eventually settled by Nobunao after many ups and downs. Nobunao entered the service of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and managed to protect his clan's holdings. During this time, worsening conflict with the Date clan to the south led to the Nanbu moving their headquarters to Morioka Castle (located in modern-day central Iwate prefecture).

The Nanbu crest consists of two cranes facing one another, with nine circles on each of their breasts svmbolizina the nine celestial bodies of the universe.
