Ashikaga is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.

Descended from the Kawachi Cenji, the Ashikaga clan was the clan of the shogun of the Muromachi shogunate. It was established by Ashikaga Takauji and ruled over Yamashiro Province (modern-day southern Kyoto prefecture). Two of the most prominent shoguns it produced are Ashikaga Yoshiteru and Ashikaga Yoshiaki.
Yoshiteru did his utmost to restore the clan to its previous status when it appeared its influence was waning. His great skill with the sword led to his being called the "Master Swordsman Shogun.' He clashed with the Miyoshi clan among others, and was ultimately killed in a surprise attack on the capital. His half-brother, Yoshiaki, left the capital to seek Oda Nobunaga's aid, later returning with Oda's military. However, he and Nobunaga eventually became enemies, leading to Yoshiaki's subsequent banishment from the capital.
The Ashikaga crest features two parallel lines that are said to represent two dragons. It was believed that those who brandished this crest in battle would benefit from the spiritual power afforded by the dragons themselves.
