Sho is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Sho clan was the royal family of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Among its most famous leaders are Sho En and Sho Nei.
Descended from ancient nobility, the Sho clan managed to establish a rule largely independent of external influences despite the Ryukyu Kingdom's status as a tributary state of Ming dynasty China. This can be attributed to the Ryukyu Kingdom's geographical features, which left it fairly isolated from the outside world and made it difficult for would-be enemies to invade. The kingdom's connections to continental Asia led to a thriving cultural exchange, which in turn led to the development of tonfa-based martial arts, among others.
The Sho crest features a comma-like symbol known as a "tomoe". These tomoe are stylized to resemble a vortex or "magatama", comma-shaped jewel-like beads from prehistoric Japan, The tomoe is often used in the crests of prestigious shrines or Hachiman, a deity of war. It is said to protect one from water-related calamities.
