Satake is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Satake clan ruled over northern Hitachi Province (modern-day Ibaraki prefecture), later entering the service of the Toyotomi clan. Some of its most noted leaders are Satake Yoshishige and his son, Yoshinobu.
Yoshishige was a general so venerated he was known as -Demon Yoshishige-, but his talents did not lie on the battlefield alone. He exercised great diplomatic skill in manipulating alliances with the other clans to extend his own clan's influence. The clan would later serve Toyotomi Hideyoshi, with Yoshinobu participating in the Siege of Odawara. This led to the Satake being awarded a large amount of territory in Mite and elsewhere.
The Satake crest depicts a folding fan bearing the pattern of a moon. It is believed that this crest originates from an incident that occurred when Satake ancestors were fighting alongside Minamoto no Yoritomo in the conquest of Oshu. Realizing that both clans bore the same unmarked white flag. Minamoto requested that the Satake change its flag.
