Murakami is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Murakami clan was a naval family that ruled over the Geiyo Islands (located in the western region of today's Seto Inland Sea). Its most celebrated leader is Murakami Takeyoshi.
Takeyoshi led his band of pirates into war to aid the Mohri clan with their advance into Setouchi, and fought against Oda Nobunaga in the battles of Kizugawaguchi. The Toyotomi clan issued edicts against piracy when it came to power, ultimately leading to the Murakami and Mohri clans' submission to Hideyoshi. The clans are said to have primarily been involved in the water transportation industry thereafter.
The Murakami clan shares its crest with its ancestral family, the Seiwa Genii. The character featured in its design has the auspicious meaning of "upwards" and is part of the Murakami name. Murakami Yoshikiyo of Shinano Province (modern-day Nagano Prefecture), who fought against Takeda Shingen, also made use of the same crest.
