Kuki is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Kuki clan was a powerful family based in Shima Province (today's Mie prefecture). Kuki Yoshitaka is one of its most famous leaders.
The clan once served the Kitabatake clan, rulers of Ise Province. This changed when Oda Nobunaga advanced his forces into Ise. Yoshitaka, who was once a commander in the Kumano Navy, aided Nobunaga by building him enormous ships reinforced with iron armor. With these new vessels, they were able to soundly defeat the Mohri clan's naval forces that had previously beaten them.
The Kuki crest is derived from seven stars—an apt design for the Kuki family, who must have used the stars to navigate their way across the seas.
