Araki is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Araki clan ruled over Settsu Province, which was comprised of present-day northern Osaka and southeastern Hyogo prefecture. Araki Murashige was its leader.
Murashige was discovered by Oda Nobunaga and made one of Nobunaga's retainers. He fought well in many battles, but eventually capitulated to Hideyoshi during the latter's advance into the Chugoku region. For reasons unknown, Murashige unexpectedly rebelled against Nobunaga, but was ultimately unable to hold a candle to Nobunaga's retaliating forces. Murashige escaped from his castle and began to live the life of a wanderer. After the Honnoji Incident, he is said to have settled down in Sakai, where he learned the art of the tea ceremony from Sen no Rikyu.
The Araki crest is based on a peony. The peony was brought to Japan during the Nara period and was often featured in designs alongside lions due to their similar nicknames: the king of flowers and the king of beasts.

Fun fact history fact: Araki Mujinsai, thought to be a member of Araki Murashige, created a martial art that impressed Hideyoshi so much, he was bestowed the title, "Japan's opener of mountains." Though all of this is lost to time, it's pretty interesting that Hideyoshi is the tie between two incredily powerful potential family members.
