Takenaka is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.
The Takenaka clan possessed some territory in Mino Province (modern-day Gifu prefecture). Its most famous leader is Takenaka Shigeharu, often known by the alias Hanbei.
Hanbei was a retainer for the Saito clan of Mino Province and served both Saito Yoshitatsu and Saito Tatsuoki. Tatsuoki was prone to debauchery and neglected his official duties, and Hanbei once famously captured Inabayama Castle with a mere handful of soldiers to teach Tatsuoki a lesson. After Oda Nobunaga's invasion of Mino Province, Hanbei became a tactician for Toyotomi Hideyoshi, gaining fame for his ingenuity.
The Takenaka crest consists of nine broad-leaf bamboo leaves. Symbolically, the broad-leaf bamboo is considered identical to the bamboo plant, which is perceived as bringing good luck due to the way it grows so straight and tall.
