Uesugi is a Clan in Nioh2. Players can pledge their allegiance to a Clan at the Hidden Teahouse to acquire passive Special Effects that affect all Characters linked to the account.

The Uesugi clan was a well-respected family dating back to the Kamakura period. It ruled over Echigo Province (modern-day Niigata prefecture) in addition to a number of other territories in the Kanto region. Some of its most famous leaders are Uesugi Kenshin and Uesugi Kagekatsu.

The Uesugi clan, which once held the position of shogun deputy of Kanto, was on the verge of losing its power due to internal conflict when Nagao Kagetora (later known as Uesugi Kenshin) was granted the Uesugi name and restored the clan to its former glory. Kenshin fought valiantly against the Takeda clan in Kawanakajima and repeatedly clashed with the Hojo and Oda clans over territory. His prodigious skill in combat led him to be known as the "God of War." Kagekatsu, victor of the power struggle that ensued after Kenshin's sudden death, entered into the service of the Toyotomi clan and was eventually relocated to the larger Aizu region. This increased the friction between the Uesugi clan and Tokugawa leyasu, who ruled over Kanto.

The Uesugi crest depicts two sparrows said to be mates that are encircled by bamboo.
