Namahage is an Enemy in Nioh 2. Namahage is a disciplining Yokai that attacks with cleavers or a odachi.

Enemy Description

  • As yokai that appear in legends from the Oga peninsula in northern Dewa Province, the namahage are viewed as savage servants of the gods. It is said they don straw masks and, with a large knife or hatchet in hand, visit houses in the neighborhood searching for those guilty of laziness or bad behavior. As such, threats of the namahage coming are often used to scare children into good behavior.
  • Despite having different names, the yokai known as nagomehagi, amamehagi, appossha, toshidon, and many other names throughout the country are thought to be the same as the namahage, and are concentrated along the coast of the Sea of Japan. They all share a common demon-like appearance and seek out those who are lazy or evil. They are also all considered to be servants of the gods, or even gods themselves.

Overhead attack like Odachi, Katana or Spear have on High stance will break Namahagane's horns and effectively reduce it's Ki to 25% - Discovering this made this Yokai ez pick for me

So far I've seen 2 variants of the Nama (twin cleavers, single machete) and both **** me up whenever I find them. They move around slow when idling but their melee attacks come out fast af cover a fair distance and do a lot of damage. Also there is one special Nama in Corpses and Ice that is tied to a blue crystal, it has basically infinite ki regen and heals 100hp every few seconds so ignore this hombre, sneak to the crystal and destroy it.
