Oni-bi is an Enemy in Nioh 2. Oni-bi is a floating elemental Yokai that attacks with elemental damage and explodes upon death. Oni-bi are found since the early missions of Nioh 2.
Enemy Description
- Oni-bi resemble floating balls of fire. They are formed when the elemental power of fire, water, wind, lightning or earth coalesces around the will of a dead soul. They must be distinguished from the souls known as Hitodama that burn on once their bodies are no more; Oni-bi are yokai, plain and simple.
- Oni-bi literally means "demon fire" but they can be made of water m wind, lightning, or earth as well. Striking an Oni-bi with a weapon like a katana will temporarily give that weapon the elemental power of the Oni-bi.
Oni-bi Locations & Drops
- Found in Main Mission:
- Found in Sub Missions:
- Drops Oni-bi Core
- Drops Maelstrom/Thunderstorm/Infernal Oni-Bi Soul Core (depends on what type of Oni-Bi is killed)
Combat Information
- Oni-bi are not the most powerful in terms of raw power, but their ability to near-instantly inflict status ailments should be enough reason to eliminate them as quickly as possible.
- It is also capable of almost stagger-locking someone when close. Fortunately, any projectile-based attack (including Stones) can knock it down for a final blow. Having attacks with high range or hyper-armor can also be advantageous when engaging it.
- While it is immune to whatever element it is composed of (e.g. Infernal Oni-Bi is immune to fire, Maelstrom Oni-Bi is immune to water, and Thunderstorm Oni-Bi is immune to lightning), it can still be knocked down when such elemental attacks hit them (e.g. elemental shots from the Onmyo Magic tree).
