A Familiar Glow | Nioh 2 Wiki


A Familiar Glow is a Sub Mission in Nioh 2. This mission is recommended for level 147, has a difficulty level of 1, and features the yokai boss Nightmare Bringer. A Familiar Glow tasks players with challenging and beating Nightmare Bringer. "How marvelous! Sohayamaru's light shines forth once more! Given where it has led us thus far, this can only be some kind of omen. It seems the blade is calling to us once again."

Mission End Text

"Sohaya's light has connected us across the ages and allowed me to see my most cherished wish fulfilled. Now you have seen the truth, though I must apologize for forcing yet another sad farewell upon you. Well, at least we have this place, somewhere old friends can meet again. And let us do so, as the flow of time permits. Suzuka and I shall await you, on the other side."

Defeat Nightmare Bringer

 For this mission, you'll arrive at the arena where you'll fight against Nightmare Bringer for the second time, apart from that, there are no collectibles for this mission. The first time you encounter him is at the main mission "A Distant Dream."

Trivia & Notes:

The achievement "The Path We've Taken" can be earned from this mission if you summon each of the NPC's Tokichiro, Minamoto no Yoshitsune and Minamoto no Yorimitsu from their benevolent graves in this mission.

Each NPC you summon (Tokichiro, Minamoto no Yoshitsune and Minamoto no Yorimitsu) will have dialogue after the fight if they are still alive.

You will receive an item from your NPC summon the first time you complete the fight with them still alive. This item will not drop on subsequent refights.
